Digest & Create
An Art Journaling Guide for Year's End
2025 → 2026
Pause, Listen & AlignÂ
As the year ends, it’s easy to get swept into what’s next ~ making plans, setting intentions, trying to move forward before we’ve even caught our breath.
Digest & Create offers a different rhythm.
It’s an art journaling guide to help you slow down, listen inward, and come into alignment with what this year has taught you. Through reflection and gentle creative prompts, you’ll begin to digest what’s ending and make space for what’s emerging.
You can start anytime, but many people find the quiet week between years ~ once the holidays have softened and the pace begins to slow ~ to be the perfect moment to settle in.
What's Included
This 40+ page guide offers space to reflect, create and integrate at your own pace. Inside, you’ll find:
🌿 Month-by-month reflection prompts to help you remember what unfolded and how you’ve grown.
💛 Gentle questions about gratitude and grief, so you can honor all that’s been held.
🎨 Art journaling invitations to bring your reflections to life through color, texture, and imagery.
🕯️ Closing pages for intention, renewal, and the threshold between years.
No art experience is needed. You can write, draw, collage, or simply sit with the questions.
The goal isn’t to make something “beautiful” ~ it’s to meet yourself with gentleness and curiosity.
Hi there!Â
I'm Lea Seigen Shinraku, artist, creative self-compassion teacher and licensed therapist. Creativity comes in many forms and it's a central part of my teaching and everyday practice. IÂ made this coloring book for fun, because I couldn't find something similar out in the world. I'm happy to share it with you and I hope it serves as a playful support in being kinder to yourself every day.
Mandalas are soothing
Many pages in the Love Yourself Today coloring book feature mandalas. Some studies have shown that, compared to other designs, mandala coloring pages are more effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. Try it and see!
