what to expect in Getting Unstuck
Our live classes will be a mix of reflective and creative; serious and playful. We'll meditate together, check in briefly as a group, and learn about each week's theme through a talk, art journaling and discussion.
You'll also have home practices each week.
The program is designed to give you a direct experience of art journaling as an uplifting practice to help you get unstuck. The goal is for you to develop skills you can use to transform what holds you back so that you feel more inspired, creative and self-compassionate. Through art journaling and meditation, you will learn practical, playful tools that you can access whenever you feel stuck.
PRE-PROGRAM
Before our first class, you'll do some reflective, creative practices to clarify your intentions.
WEEK 1: WHERE WE GET STUCK
In our first class, we'll identify where we get stuck and explore the unique self-compassion framework that will guide your process of getting unstuck.
WEEK 2: INSPIRE THE RESCUER
Next, we focus on the part of us that tends to take care of everyone's needs but our own. You will learn a simple, powerful art journaling tool to get unstuck and feel more inspired and self- compassionate.
WEEK 3: BEFRIEND THE VICTIM
This week we'll turn toward the stuck part of us that tends to isolate and believe that their needs will never get met. We'll learn to meet this part of us with kindness and discover how to feel connected again.
WEEK 4: QUESTION THE CRITIC
Next, we'll look at the critic ~ the stuck part of us focused on who to blame ~ either judging ourselves or others. You'll meet the critic with curiosity and confidence so you can move forward in a practical way.
WEEK 5: YOUR PRISMATIC, COMPASSIONATE SELF
In our last week, we'll review what we've covered and focus on self- compassion's role in getting unstuck. You'll learn a new practice to distill your learning and create a new story of freedom and possibility.

I like to make thoughtful decisions, too.
I know that these past few years have been hard. Many of us have felt weighed down by uncertainty, change, and challenges that don’t have quick fixes. And when we feel stuck ~ whether in our circumstances, our thoughts, or our patterns ~ the inner critic often gets louder. We can start to believe that moving forward isn’t possible, or that we have to push ourselves relentlessly to make any change.
It can seem like we shouldn’t have needs, or that there’s no room for joy or creativity until everything else is “handled.”
But it’s often in the stuck times and places that we most need small openings ~ moments of curiosity, play and possibility.
We need a space where we can explore gently, replenish our energy, and remember that nothing can take away our power to create, or our capacity to see ourselves with kindness.
When I turn to my art journal, it’s not just to take a break from the hard things. It’s a way to find fresh perspective ~ to remind myself that play, beauty, and new perspectives can co-exist with uncertainty and difficulty.
I’d love to be your guide and show you what the combination of self-compassion and creativity can do. In Getting Unstuck, we’ll explore this together, and you’ll learn a simple model and everyday practice you can use to find your way forward ~ any time you need it.
