Grow and heal ~ and have fun!
healing doesn't have to be heavy
When life feels busy or overwhelming, even things that are “good for us” can start to feel like more effort. We may know we need kindness and care, but we’re not always sure how to give it to ourselves in a way that actually feels supportive.
Love Yourself Now with Art Journaling is designed to be simple and approachable. Through an easy art-journaling practice, you’ll explore a way of caring for yourself that’s creative, calming, and pressure-free ~ something you can return to when you need a moment of grounding or comfort.
No fixing, no performing ~ just a chance to slow down and treat yourself with a little more gentleness.

“I just wanted to say thank you for the workshop ~ I loved it so much. You made the drawings so approachable. I recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to be kinder to themselves. I was actually hoping that I could get my kids to watch the replay with me. Thanks again, Lea ~ I can't wait to do another workshop with you!”

“It was such a gift to have this dedicated time to learn, draw, listen, and reflect. Lea encouraged us to be playful and experiment. This was important as I don't draw regularly and can be quick to judge myself. I really appreciate Lea's heart-centered approach. I can't help but smile when I look at my drawing from the workshop.”

Hi, I'm glad you're here!
I'm Lea Seigen Shinraku ~ artist, teacher, licensed therapist and 20+ year Zen practitioner. For over a decade, I’ve been guiding students in creative, self-compassionate practices that help them feel more grounded, supported and connected to themselves.
I believe personal growth doesn’t have to feel like constant hard work. Through art journaling and simple mindfulness practices, we can meet ourselves with more curiosity and kindness, and create small moments of relief and ease even when life feels stressful or overwhelming.
Creative self-compassion has been a meaningful part of my own journey, and I’ve seen again and again how powerful it can be for students, too ~ especially for people who want something gentle, embodied and creative rather than just more thinking and talking.
My hope is that this workshop gives you a felt sense of how creativity can support you, and offers you a simple practice you can return to whenever you want to treat yourself with a little more kindness.
I’d love to share this time with you 💛
“The workshop was inspiring! You have a wonderful way of teaching on a topic that's hard for many of us. I have a tough time expressing my feelings and hold most of it inside. Thank you for providing a way to work through challenges in our lives and allow our feelings to be heard. Your kindness and true care were felt today.” ~ Ginger R.
“The workshop taught me a hands-on way to be kinder to myself. Lea guided us to draw ourselves, demonstrating a simple way to do it. Suddenly, with me literally on the page, I was able to open up to the ideas ~ mind, body, and spirit. It was wonderful to feel an instant infusion of affection, understanding, and compassion for myself.” ~ Kath B.
